SANDWICHING A QUILT & BEGINNING TO MACHINE QUILT

$50.00 + HST ($25.00 optional kit fee for those who do not have their own quilt to bind that will contain two pieces of fabric and one piece of batting approximately 20” x 15” placemat size)

Monday November 27th, 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Bring your pieced quilt top and learn how to sandwich your quilt top with batting and backing for perfect machine quilting. Once your quilt is sandwiched, you will learn the basics of using a quilting foot for “stitch in the ditch” or diagonal machine quilting to start quilting your quilt by machine! Beginner level.

Supplies needed:

• completed quilt top
• backing (yardage so backing is at least 6” larger than quilt top)
• batting (yardage at least 6” larger than quilt top )
• temporary spray adhesive (505 Temporary Spray Adhesive recommended)
• sharp safety or quilt pins
• a very sharp blade in a rotary cutter
• cutting mat (min. 24” wide)
• 24” ruler suitable for using with a rotary cutter (recommended Omni Grid 6” or 6.5” wide)
• scissors
• matching thread
• quilting walking foot / even feed foot for your machine
