Need a hand sewing workshop? Using a pattern provided, you will be shown how to assemble a hand appliqued, landscape quilt. These little beauties are completed quickly. Embellishing and colour selection will be discussed along with quilting suggestions. This is a technique that can be adapted and used with future landscape/travel photos, can be adapted to machine applique. Fabric sharing encouraged!
Supply List
Small pieces of landscape cotton quilting fabric including sky, grass, mountains, dirt, small floral, water, small trees, wood grain fabric for border or fabric to frame your landscape, novelty fabrics with butterflies, bees, small animals, bring what you have & Robin will share some of hers
Small piece of muslin, or white or cream cotton measuring 12” x 10”
Backing fabric 14 x 16”
Batting 14 x 16”
6 x 12” ruler
Hand applique needles in a size that suits your fingers
Thimble (optional but helpful)
Small sharp applique scissors
White Reynolds Freezer Paper (available at Home Hardware)
Thread to match your applique fabrics, finer thread recommended ie. Aurifil, 50 wt Mettler
Pencil & eraser
Black thin sharpie marker
